Who we are
CAID Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit company registered in Godda, Jharkhand. We run our founding field initiative, Project TAARAA, across villages in Amrapara Block, Pakur, on foundational learning, health, nutrition, child protection, livelihoods, and community development.
We started in 2020 because we saw that while large interventions exist in urban centres and district headquarters, remote tribal pockets like Amrapara often remain underserved. We wanted to build an organisation that stays close to the ground, works with village communities, and addresses challenges systematically—starting with foundational education.
We are founder-led, community-staffed, and run on deep field presence. Fine-tuning baseline learning outcomes, building health literacy, and ensuring child protection are at the core of our daily field effort.

The problem we are trying to solve
Low Foundational Learning
A large number of children in remote villages of Damru, Santhali, and adjacent blocks struggle with basic reading and arithmetic skills—despite being enrolled in school. Terms like FLN remain abstract without local execution on the ground.
Child Vulnerabilities
Poverty and low structural awareness leave children vulnerable to early dropouts, seasonal migration, and lack of foundational protection mechanisms at the village level.
Impact Gaps In Remote Areas
While state and central programs cover vast geography, ground-level intervention support is often missing in interior blocks—leaving children without tailored daily learning and nutrition guidance.
Community awareness during the pandemic
Shortly after CAID Foundation was formed, our community was hit by COVID-19 waves. Starting July 2020, we organized community awareness sessions in Santhali dialect, covering COVID-19 prevention, health and hygiene, truth vs. rumors about vaccination, combined with mask distribution and home-to-home outreach.
In September 2020, we launched Project TAARAA—our foundational education program. Even under challenging situations, community volunteers stepped up to teach primary-age children who were losing access to schooling due to lockdown closures.
Continued Field Work: What started as basic response has evolved into regular community learning centers and nutrition drives. We work hand-in-hand with parents, village elders, and local teachers to maintain daily momentum.

An honest start
"The financial year 2023–24 marked another year of learning for CAID Foundation. During the year, the Foundation continued its efforts to work with children and families through community-based activities in Amrapara Block of Pakur district. Project TAARAA was implemented through the voluntary efforts of community volunteers, with active support from the founders, parents, and local community members, without financial assistance from any external agency."
